Holmes Elementary Before and After School Enrichment Programs

There are several exciting after school programs provided throughout the week for Holmes students to participate in. Please refer to Peachjar or the program provider's website for further details and registration instructions.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all after school enrichment programs have been moved to either Zoom or online classes or to off site locations.  Please refer to Peachjar for updated flyer information.

Before School

  • Mileage Club

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:05-8:20 am on the upper playground.

Here are a sampling of after school enrichment programs Holmes has offered in the past:

Yoga Rascals offers classes for children of all ages. Kids stretch and strengthen their bodies in after school programs at local elementary schools.

Dubbed "The Evans Method" by the United States Chess Federation, Mountain Lake Chess Club offers chess instruction where students are challenged in a fun environment.

This awesome class uses a kid-friendly simplified version of Javascript to teach kids real coding skills. The Superhero theme is a blast with apps such as: Super Dog, Nemesis, Max Muscle, Webslinger, Danger room and more! Kids can work at their level to create working apps with as few as 2 lines of code, to more complicated apps with 60+ lines of code to the ultimate challenge to create your own app! Students can download their apps onto their personal devices to share at home.

Youth Tennis San Diego provides tennis instruction for youth of all levels and experience.

CYT is devoted to introducing performing arts to students by providing high quality experience that is educational and enjoyable. Each week students will explore performing arts through acting, singing and dancing. Visual and performance arts reinforce literacy, speaking and listening. They provide natural opportunities for students to communicate, collaborate, create and critically think.

TGA Premier Golf introduces golf at a young age through programs that provide a fun and enriching experience for children while being a convenient and affordable option for parents. Dedicated coaching staff help students develop their skills and a passion for golf while using the sports as a vehicle for delivering curriculums that are loaded with educational concepts including STEM and life skills such as respect, honesty, perseverance and sportsmanship.

Upstart basic basketball fundamentals is an after school program for boys and girls grade K-8 who want to learn the fundamentals of basketball. Our goal is to provide fun, safe, learning environment for all participants. We focus on dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, rebounding, and learning how to play as a team. Participants will develop an understanding of the game as well as good sportsmanship. Come join us and improve your skills!

The MonArt method has been taught to tens of thousands of public and private school children and is offered in privately owned MonArt schools, charter schools, and home school associations. This uniquely designed methodology teaches visual perception and realistic drawing skills on a level never before seen with young children and adults.

Soccer Shots is an engaging children's soccer program with a focus on character development. The caring team positively impacts children's lives on and off the field through best-in- class coaching, communication, and curriculum. Coaches are the best-trained in the business and an expert-approved curriculum is age-appropriate and aligns with childhood education standards.

  • Hand Sewing 

Heartlight San Diego is a program of California Fitness Fun, a non-profit 501 c(3) organization that offers fitness programs for students. Heartlight Aerobics offers boys and girls the opportunity to participate in a non-competitive fitness activity where the emphasis is on fun and the individual achievement rather than "winning or losing."

Please note: All after school enrichment programs are provided by independent program providers, approved through the San Diego Unified School District, and are not supervised or operated by Holmes Elementary or the Holmes Elementary PTA. All registration activities and specific program questions should be directed to the program provider.
